I'm A.V. Sampson. I've been making music for about five years both for personal projects and in collaboration with others, but this is my first time directing a solo effort for my own music. I make music under the name "Vivisection".

Generally speaking, I write, sing, produce, record, mix, engineer, and master all of my own music. In other words, I do everything on my music unless otherwise specified. I absolutely love collaboration with all of my heart, but in my own projects I try to do everything myself unless I'm convinced somebody else could do it better.
Behind the scenes, my main roles are as either a creative director or a producer. I've guided the course of EP releases, planned entire album rollouts, and driven conversations on artistic goals and aims for artists overflowing with talent but struggling with focus.

As a producer, I'm capable of producing for radio-ready synth pop, alternative/indie/leftfield strains of pop & r'n'b, sample-based hip-hop and trap, commercial dance music, and leftfield electronica. Obviously I have sound preferences, but if I'm confident in the act I'm producing I can make essentially anything in their vision.

If you find me to be a sociable or likeable person, chances are we'd work well together. 80% of my job is intuiting what the people I'm collaborating with enjoy and the ways in which they think. 80% of my job is being in the room and giving you the exact sequence of words you're reaching for but can't quite reach. Like any good creative aide, I'm a stopgap more often than not.
If you need a quick tagline: I'm a pop futurist pushing forward conventionally catchy music with the raw creativity of experimental rock and the polish of electronic music.
If you want something more in-depth, I can easily tailor that conversation to you. Contact me through Instagram or any other methods you can find me! I'd love to talk about it.
Also I should have music coming out sometime soon! Hopefully the music speaks for itself! If not, you know where to find me.
As for my actual taste in music, I have a rateyourmusic page (also in the icon list at the bottom of the page) that could probably expose you to some of my music taste!
Many of the works I've been involved with are currently unreleased, have not been permitted to publicly share the process behind, or would be somewhat esoteric to come across organically. Contact me directly to be able to access any sort of portfolio.
